F. Using a geothermal heat pump, duct work and heat exchange
system (a series of pipes buried into the ground), heat energy can be
extracted from the earth. heat is removed from the
heat exchange and into an indoor air system in the winter to heat a
building. In the summer the pump removes heat from the indoor air thus cooling a building. The extracted heat
can be used to make hot water.
geothermal energy can be used to heat and cool buildings, and heat hot
water. Wells can be drilled into underground reservoirs to generate
electricity. Steam from hot water can be used to power a
generator. Geothermal energy has also been used for greenhouses, drying
crops, heating water at fish farms and pasteurizing milk.
